Are You Eligible for a Texas Energy Rebate? Here’s How to Find Out
Ever heard of the Texas Trade Up Appliance Rebate Program? If you haven’t you will be soon. It’s a rebate program that will start on April 5th. Fundamentally, the program gives rebates to consumers who buy Energy Star-rated appliances.
This can mean hundreds (or even a few thousand) of dollars coming to you. Following are some of appliances you get rebates for buying, as well as how much you are eligible to receive on these purchases:
Central Air Conditioner: $600 to $1,000;
Air-Source Heat Pump: $1,200 to $1,600;
Simple Room Air Conditioner: $45; and
Refrigerator: $240.
As you can see, these rebates can add up quickly.

Save More on Your Texas Electric Bill
When Texas deregulated its electricity market in 2002, for the first time many consumers were able to shop for electricity providers much as they would for any other service provider for their home.
Many may have prepaid electric service accounts or no-deposit electric accounts that cost them two to three times what others are paying.
If you have one of these types of accounts, it’s imperative that you do some comparative shopping. Traditional, dependable Texas electric companies offer programs that help low-income and/or credit-challenged individuals to defray the cost of monthly electric bills.
A prime example is the Texas LITE-UP Program. If you qualify, you can pay less for five months out of the year on your electric bill – and what’s more, you don’t have to pay a deposit. To learn more, ask your Texas electric company about this program and others they may have to help you get off and/or avoid the high cost of prepaid electric accounts.
